Viral Diarrhea study group has been built since August 2015, as a new research laboratory at the Institute of Tropical Disease (ITD) UNAIR. We conduct various research projects that focus on viral diarrhea including Rotavirus and Norovirus in pediatric and adults patients infected with acute and chronic gastroenteritis of various hospitals and health centers in Indonesia. In recent research, we are collaborating with some researchers from Kobe University. Our concern is to do molecular epidemiology of rotavirus and norovirus strain in Indonesia with collecting stool samples from some areas in Indonesia, such as Java, Nusa Tenggara, Papua, Maluku, Sumatera and etc. Our goal is to understand the prevalency and molecular study of rotavirus and norovirus spreading in Indonesia. Until to date, we realize that there is not many.
