{:en}Drinking Herbal Drink in ITD{:}{:id}Minum Jamu Bersama di ITD{:}

{:en}Department of Pharmacognosy and Phytochemistry from Faculty of Pharmacy held “Drinking Herbal Together” event in ITD. According to Dr. Aty Widyawuranti, Dra,. Apt. Msi, lecturer in Faculty of Pharmacy, the event was held to encourage people to drink traditional herbal drinks. Those herbs were scientifically proven to have many good benefits for our health.


Most of Indonesian herbal drink was consist of herbs and spices (we often called “empon-empon”) like ginger, galangal, curcumin, turmeric, and others. Based on the research, those herbs contained active ingredients that proven to have a pharmacology effect. For example, turmeric and curcumin had a substance called curcumin that acted as anti-oxidant, reduce inflammation, increase mucus production in stomach, anti-bacterial, anti-virus, and also boost immune system.

Therefore, drinking herbs, especially turmeric and curcumin, can help to boost the immune system, so we’re not easy to get sick. To get the maximum benefit, we need to choose good-grade ingredients, therefore it is important to do a proper production and appropriate dose.

By this event, hopefully, we can be responsible and take care of our health in the middle of COVID-19 and also introduce two variants of “coroNAIR” herbal drink which are “Kunyit Asam” and “Beras Kencur”, produced by Faculty of Pharmacy with the help of local herbal drink maker.{:}{:id}Bertempat di Lembaga Penyakit Tropis dan Fakultas Farmasi Universitas Airlangga, telah dilaksanakan acara ” Minum Jamu Bersama”.

Menurut Dr. Aty Widyawaruyanti, Dra,. Apt. M.Si, Ketua Departemen Farmakognosi dan Fitokimia, yang juga Ketua Kelompok Studi NPMRD dan Peneliti Lembaga Penyakit Topis, acara itu diselenggarakan untuk menggalakkan kembali minum jamu tradisional Indonesia karena khasiat jamu tradisional sudah terbukti sangat bermanfaat dalam meningkatkan kesehatan dan daya tahan tubuh. Masyarakat Indonesia, sudah sejak lama turun temurun menggunakan ramuan jamu untuk meningkatkan kesehatannya. Penelitian tentang khasiat jamu telah banyak dilakukan.

Bahan obat tradisonal Indonesia, dalam hal ini Jamu sebagian besar menggunakan bahan rempah (istilah masyarakat empon-empon) yang tumbuh subur di Indonesia seperti kunyit, jahe, kencur, temu lawak, dan lainnya. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian bahan jamu tersebut mengandung bahan aktif yg terbukti memiliki efek farmakologi. Sebagai contoh, pada kunyit dan temulawak terkandung zat Curcumin yang berkhasiat sebagai anti oksidan, mengurangi peradangan, meningkatkan produksi lendir dinding lambung, antibakteri, antivrus dan juga dapat meningkatkan sistem imun. Oleh karena itu dengan rutin minum jamu khususnya jamu kunyit dan temulawak, diharapkan daya tahan tubuh meningkat, sehingga tubuh tidak mudah terserang virus.

Hanya saja untuk mendapatkan khasiat yg diinginkan, kualitas jamu harus baik. Sehingga perlu diperhatikan cara pembuatan jamu yang baik, serta takarannya sesuai.

Dengan diselenggarakan acara “Minum Jamu Bersama” ini, civitas akademika Universitas Airlangga yang dimulai di fakultas farmasi dan lembaga penyakit tropis bisa lebih perduli dengan kesehatan tubuh ditengah maraknya pemberitaan virus corona 2019 ini dan tak hanya itu, hal ini juga untuk mengenalkan produk jamu Kunyit Asam dan Beras Kencur yang dihasilkan oleh fakultas farmasi yang bekerjasama dengan produsen jamu dengan nama coroNAIR.{:}
