{:en}UNAIR NEWS – United Nations World Health Organization (WHO) declared an international emergency related to the corona virus. The virus which is also called the 2019-nCov has now spread in 25 countries from Malaysia to the Philippines, its status has been confirmed to be positively infected by the corona virus, even the virus has caused hundreds of fatalities in China.

With this, there arose doubts from the international community that there would be no community in Indonesia with confirmed corona virus infections. That would be the question whether Indonesia really does not yet exist or Indonesia has not been able to detect it.

Responding to the spread of the virus, UNAIR in collaboration with Kobe University managed to get a reagent to examine and detect a new type of corona virus with Novel 201 Coronavirus code originating from Wuhan. The reagent is a specific premiere that can be used to identify someone who suspects or confirms the Wuhan corona virus.

“This is good news to convince the wider community of the positive and negative status of the corona virus in Indonesia. Do not let the media not exist but in the field actually there, “said UNAIR Rector, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih, SE., M.T., Ak., CMA.

In this case, continued Prof. Nasih, the public could use the Tropical Disease Institution at UNAIR to identify the presence of the virus. In identifying it also only requires a long time and the detection accuracy is up to 99 percent. “If someone suspects the corona virus, just take it to Airlangga, through the sputum sample issued, we will detect it and the results will come out in just a few hours,” he said.

At present, in Indonesia there are only two institutions that have reagents in detecting the virus, namely UNAIR and the Balitbang of the Ministry of Health. Of course this is inseparable from the cooperation of various parties such as RSUA, RSUD dr. Soetomo, ITD and several other experts headed by Prof. Soetjipto dr., M.S., Ph.D. “With this identification, it is expected to produce research that can truly overcome the virus and the virus really does not exist in Indonesia,” he added. Prof. Nasih also appealed to the public not to be too panicked in responding to the virus.

UNAIR will open opportunities for cooperation as widely as possible if there are universities or hospitals that have patients who are still in the suspect or confirmed status to be brought to UNAIR through the process of corona virus identification or detection. “It means that UNAIR is ready from the initial identification process to the healing stage,” he concluded.

Virus yang juga disebut dengan 2019-nCov kini telah menyebar di 25 negara dari Malaysia hingga Filipina statusnya sudah terkonfirmasi positif terinfeksi virus corona bahkan virus tersebut menyebabkan ratusan korban jiwa yang ada di Cina.

Dengan adanya ini, muncullah keraguan dari masyarakat Internasional akan tidak adanya masyarakat di Indonesia yang terkonfirmasi inveksi virus corona. Hal itu justru menjadi pertanyaan apakah benar Indonesia belum ada atau Indonesia belum mampu mendeteksinya.

Menanggapi penyebaran virus tersebut, UNAIR bekerja sama dengan Kobe University berhasil mendapatkan reagen untuk memeriksa dan mendeteksi virus corona jenis baru dengan kode Novel 201 Coronavirus yang berasal dari Wuhan. Reagennya yaitu premier spesifik yang bisa digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi seseorang yang suspect atau confirm virus corona Wuhan.

“Ini merupakan berita baik untuk meyakinkan masyarakat luas akan status positif dan negatifnya virus corona di Indonesia. Jangan sampai di media tidak ada tapi di lapangan sebenarnya ada,” ungkap Rektor UNAIR, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih, SE., M.T., Ak., CMA.

Dalam hal ini, sambung Prof Nasih, masyarakat dapat memanfaatkan Lembaga Penyakit Tropis yang ada di UNAIR untuk mengidentifikasi keberadaan virus tersebut. Dalam mengidentifikasinya pun hanya memerlukan waktu yang tidak cukup lama dan akurasi pendeteksiannya pun hingga 99 persen.

“Jika ada yang suspect virus corona bawa saja ke unair, melalui sampel dahak yang dikeluarkan kami akan mendeteksi dan hasilnya akan keluar dalam beberapa jam saja,” tandasnya.

Saat ini, di Indonesia hanya ada dua lembaga yang memiliki reagen dalam mendeteksi virus tersebut yakni UNAIR dan Balitbang Kementerian Kesehatan. Tentu hal ini tidak terlepas dari kerja sama berbagai pihak seperti RSUA, RSUD dr. Soetomo, LPT dan beberapa pakar lainnya yang dikepalai oleh Prof. Soetjipto dr., M.S., Ph.D.

“Dengan identifikasi tersebut diharapkan bisa menghasilkan riset yang benar-benar bisa mengatasi virus tersebut dan virus itu benar-benar tidak ada di Indonesia,” tambahnya.

Prof Nasih juga mengimbau agar masyarakat tidak terlalu panik dalam menyikapi virus tersebut. UNAIR akan membuka peluang kerja sama seluas-luasnya jika ada universitas atau rumah sakit yang memiliki pasien yang masih dalam status suspect atau confirm untuk bisa dibawa ke UNAIR melalui proses identifikasi atau deteksi virus corona.

“Artinya UNAIR sudah siap dari proses identifikasi awal hingga tahap penyembuhan,” tutupnya.
