On one occasion, the head of the Institute of Tropical Disease (ITD) explained that there are several clinical symptoms felt by children with rotavirus. Generally, children who are positive for rotavirus will experience severe diarrhea. This is caused by the presence of rotavirus group A (RVA) in the child’s body.
Severe diarrhea causes children to experience severe dehydration. Children who test positive for rotavirus are susceptible to nausea due to infections and disorders of the digestive tract. “Rotavirus is a problem that must be handled immediately and well. “Remember, rotavirus can cause the death of children in Indonesia,” said Prof. Inge.
Prof. Fedik explained in his presentation the Bacillus Calmette-Guerin vaccine, which was one of the first TB vaccines used in 1921. Prof. Fedik also added that, currently, this vaccine is the only tuberculosis vaccine that has been licensed for use globally.
Prof. Fedik said in his presentation, “Provides adequate protection, including Mycobacterium ulcerans and Mycobacterium non-tuberculosis infections, for up to 20 years with care in how it is administered.”
